IMSP PODCAST: MEET ALUMNA Valerie Pytjuk

On this week’s episode of the IMSP podcast series, we are joined by alumni Valerie Pytjuk. A lifelong resident of Prague with Ukrainian roots, Valerie now studies hospitality at a university in Marbella, Spain. Valerie speaks with our host, Mariana, about how IMSP’s multicultural environment helped her to foster an international mindset. Venturing to a new country for university was a challenge she was willing to take on thanks, in part, to her Montessori education.

“I think I was already independent in many things at a really young age in my life,” Valerie shares, “and I think that’s specifically—and most importantly— because of IMSP, because we were taught to do things on our own.”

International Montessori School Prague 4, alumni podcast, review

In Valerie’s own words:

My name is Valerie Pytjuk. I'm 20 years old and I'm Ukrainian, but I have lived my whole life in Prague, Czech Republic. I have studied at IMSP for a total of 6 beautiful years leading up to grade 3, and I had the chance to create many amazing memories during this time. After that, I transferred to Open Gate School, a Czech and English gymnasium where I finished my studies with the Czech Maturita and International Baccalaureate. Currently, I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business and Administration at Les Roches Marbella, which I am enjoying to the fullest, completing practical courses in the kitchen, service, bar, housekeeping, and many more. Starting in March I will be completing my internships at Moco Museum Amsterdam and Four Seasons in Prague which I am looking forward to very much.

Twenty years ago, IMSP opened its door for the first time. This podcast series follows Mariana Bečková — IMSP alumna and graduate of the program — as she shines a light on her fellow Montessori graduates. Celebrating our 20th anniversary, we are taking time to reflect with students who have been with us along the way. Tune in and learn more about their experience in the IMSP classroom and what Montessori means for them today.
