Exploring Generosity and Art: Random Gifts of Art

This spring, as part of our Values curriculum and Art Program, we invited TEDx speakers Garret Garrels and Tim Holmes to lead a workshop at IMSP for our Elementary classes.

TEDx speakers Garret Garrels and Tim Holmes travel the world with their Random Gifts of Art project, exploring community, communication and human connection through the sharing of art work. This spring, IMSP invited them to present their workshop to our Elementary classes. Under Garret's and Tim's guidance, our students created and gave away their art on a busy day in Prague. Staff Interview: Lisa de Silva

Six Months as an IMSP Toddler

It has always been my priority to bring my kids up to be independent and curious and to treat them as my equal, if somewhat smaller in size; Montessori education therefore held a great appeal when it came to choosing a kindergarten. It has been six months since my daughter, who is just about to turn three, started attending IMSP and it is a joy and a privilege to observe how she thrives and develops.

Summer is the perfect time for trips and outings. A backpack of their very own is a great gift for an older toddler or a pre-schooler: It builds their independence and confidence as they actively participate in preparing for each trip, and then carry their necessities by themselves.
