When we do have an opening, we appreciate candidates who have a relationship with our school and who may have already visited us.  Like at many schools, employment opportunities open up at IMSP at various points of the school year; the main hiring season for lead teachers is mid-Spring.

The International Montessori School of Prague, a small, community oriented private Montessori school in Prague 4, is seeking a reliable, responsive, and organized individual for the position of a Teacher’s Assistant for our Toddler classroom (age 15 months to 3 years old)

Requirements: 

  • A passion for working with toddler aged children, love for their challenging but rewarding nature. Commitment to serving children as part of the school team.

  • Love of Learning: a deep curiosity and enthusiasm for learning about development and needs of this age group according to the Montessori method

  • High school diploma required, college degree in a related field (education, social work, psychology, etc.) an advantage

  • English and Czech fluency: one at C2, other at least at the B2 or C1 level.

  • Communicative and flexible worker, reliable and self-organized.

  • Experience with children, ideally in a group setting. Previous teaching experience a

  • Legally able to live and work in the Czech Republic on the basis of a Zivnostensky list

  • Able to physically keep up with a group of children, including getting up and down on the floor or lifting 30 pounds

Previous experience with Montessori is welcome but not a must. However, we do require an open and respectful attitude to children and our educational model, as well as a willingness to learn and professionally develop on the job.

Job duties and tasks involve: 

  • Assist in the classroom during the day: supporting the teachers in classroom management, working with children individually and in small groups, encouraging and guiding activity and peer interactions; supporting transitions and non-academic activities; managing classroom tasks (cleaning, organizing, paperwork).

  • Making/creating customized lessons and activities as guided by the teacher.

  • Oversee the Toddler After School Program, including planning activities and games, arts and crafts and outside play.

  • Communicate with parents as needed.

  • Actively participate in events, activities, field trips, etc. organized by the School

Pedagogické požadavky:

We are looking for an Infant/Toddler (0-3) Lead Teacher to join us in beautiful Prague (Czech Republic) for the 2023-2024 School year!

We are an AMS-accredited Montessori school, serving 120 students, focused on delivering a strong English program with a Czech component. We inspire children 15 months to 12 years and pride ourselves on providing a nurturing, growth-focused environment for students and faculty alike.

We are seeking staff members who take initiative, have a compassionate and joyful personality, and are motivated by a strong love for children and authentic Montessori education. Our school is committed to life-long learning in our community and we are looking for a team player who is eager to learn and collaborate.  

We offer a positive working environment, supportive school leadership (Head of School is AMI trained from 0-12 and all Area Coordinators are trained in their area), competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. We are seeking a contract with a minimum of two years or longer.

  • Staff Members have 5+ weeks paid holiday during the school year (3-days fall break, 3 weeks at winter, 1-week spring break, 1 week at Easter, and all national holidays). 

  • We offer a 12-month contract, but all Lead teachers have a paid summer holiday of 6 weeks
