Tour & Observation
The tour allows you to see the whole school and ask questions about who we are; the 20-minute classroom observation allows you to experience the difference between a Montessori classroom and classrooms at other schools. Please allow 45 minutes - 1 hour for your campus visit.

Admissions decisions are first based on the number of openings that IMSP has at any given time. Our next goal is to create a balance of ages and gender in our classrooms. We are committed to diversity in all areas.

Toddler children are accepted into the program based on available openings, ages and the gender of the children.

Primary age children (ages 3-6 years) come in for a morning visit to the classroom (from 8:30 – 11:30). This is an informal visit that allows the children to visit the classroom, learn about the routine, meet his/her peers and begin forming a bond with the teachers.

Elementary age children (ages 7-12) spend a day visiting in the classroom, participating in lessons and interacting with their potential teachers and classmates. Elementary age children should be capable of attending to a given task for a specific time period, demonstrate self-motivation and self-control and display a maturity and emotional development that is appropriate for first grade. For students transferring into our Elementary program from another school we require copies of school records as well as an Evaluation form completed by the child’s current teacher. IMSP will supply the Evaluation form along with the admissions documents.

IMSP places a high priority on identifying families who support our mission and whose values and goals for their children’s education are a close match with those of our school. We regard diversity of backgrounds and abilities as an important element in our community. Once a student is enrolled at IMSP, we will work in partnership with each family to help each child have a successful school experience through their elementary years. We look forward to meeting you and introducing you to the IMSP school community!
