Upper Elementary children felt very accomplished in presenting their Science projects. They managed to prepare different individualized projects. They chose a simple vocabulary for primary children, attractive questions and a good summary of their work. They covered a more in depth version on their experiments with a well developed speech for parents and teachers.
We will be working on the second part of the classification of the animal kingdom; the subkingdom Eumatozoa and Parazoa. That's what...

May is a busy month in Lower Elementary. Part of our time is getting ready for our end of the year performance, working on lines, perfecting timing and practicing public speaking skills. Parents...please keep an eye out for an email detailing the needed clothing items for costumes. They should be items you can find around the house.
We all enjoyed learning from each other at our Science Fair. It was great to come together and see how different things in our world work. The children learned a...

April was full of springtime gifts! We continued to observe plant life growing both inside and outside of our classrooms, as well as many new birds and other animals in our forest. A few children were even able to spot a few deer grazing in a meadow during one of our forest walks. We really enjoyed coloring eggs and painting our baskets, but not as much as finding them during our annual egg hunt!
We studied more about the continent of South America. We made flags and read several books from...

As the saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers”... The skies have been moody, that's true, but overall our April was full of joy and sunshine, if not externally then internally, because our small friends were busy, busy, busy, planting indoors and out! We have flowers and vegetables growing in our garden and are experimenting with a raised bed. The children love to cart soil and carry water for watering
our growing seedlings in the classroom and outside. We have also been growing sprouts...

It's March at IMSP! We hope the sun will finally stay around now. The class
enjoyed baking throughout the cold, rainy, muddy winter, practicing many
practical life skills indoors and out, and making Valentine's gifts for their
families. We read about what happens on a farm during the seasons and are
waiting to learn about all the spring animal births! We will also soon prepare
some ideas and some seedlings for planting when the ground warms up a
little. We are really feeling our strength in...

with more daylight hours. Primary children have been focusing on how to
move more carefully with their growing bodies. The older children are taking
on new roles as leaders and completing at least 3 goals each morning.
This past month we were busy learning more about the continent of Asia.
We read stories from various countries, (Japan, Vietnam, China, Russia and

At 11:00 am, children will talk about the traditional Chinese New year celebration. The children made dragons from the many egg cartons brought in. Thanks to all parents for bringing these to school!

During February there were a couple of days nearly like spring and after that it was just the right time for the children and me to play a game about changing weather. We know there is still some winter left, but we also know that spring is coming. But, how we can actually know that? This is a good question to ask the children.
It was lovely to meet the children in a circle with a rope and play a game. It was also really nice to have a “music” circle with an orchestra from stick sounds that...
